I'm pretty flexible about whatever happening to Primrose but definitely ask first about stuff with a permanent impact. Also, depending on the nature of the ability, she might or not have some resistance to it.

Info that might be relevant:
She's pretty much straightforwardly a Fae (with origins as a primrose). She smells like primroses.

Relevant abilities:
- By examining someone, she can sense their potential, what they can do to realize that potential, and what their current strengths are. Stuff that would mask a character's abilities or magic or whatever will work normally against this.
- She can grant power to the willing, usually temporarily. Those taking on permanent arrangements will become Contracted. This gift of power can come with a bit of a downside, such as being subject to bouts of euphoria, gaining temporary mutations, or having their new power operate in a weird way. Something to be aware of: she has power over those that accept power from her, though she's only used that control on those who acted in really wicked ways such as murdering wantonly.
- If you break a promise to her, she can curse you. This isn't completely foolproof--there're ways to protect yourself or remove the curse.
- Fun factor: if you say her name three times, you can summon her, though she might ignore it or send one of her creatures in her place.

Rather than asking people to comment to this post, if it becomes relevant I'll just ask on a case-by-case basis what she might sense, as people's needs are subject to change and strengths subject to improvement. Also, any offers of power will be made ICly.

CANON INFORMATION

CHARACTER NAME: Primrose
CANON: Original

STRENGTHS:
- Primrose is without exception benevolent. She sincerely doesn't have a single malicious bone in her body, though she's capable of getting mad at people or taking the occasional petty revenge when she feels she's been wronged. But overall her greatest drive is to help others prosper and she'll gladly give help at the drop of a hat.
- Primrose has exceptional passion and drive. It was what allowed her to rise from a lowly flower to a pretty strong Fae. For the things important to her, she'll absolutely go all out. Really, she doesn't know how to dial it down. Still, it's allowed her to accomplish many things. Whenever possible, she tries to instill this sense of drive in those she aids.
- Primrose is completely, utterly sincere. While she shares the thing with many fae about not lying, not only doesn't she tell outright lies, she rarely even misleads, tells half-truths, or the like. She wears her heart on her sleeve, something which's won her a number of friends (and enemies).

FLAWS:
- Primrose is quite eccentric. Even after a century working for Daybreak, she still has trouble grasping money because her mind finds it hard to assign value to it. She has a strange flowery way of speaking, occasionally lapsing into incomprehensible metaphors. Likewise, she is prone to mercurial shifts in mood, weeping at the drop of a hat or becoming suddenly joyous.
- Primrose cannot bring herself to end another being's potential. Killing is virtually impossible for her and it pains her whenever someone kills another person. She will accept other people killing in defense either of themselves or others, but it's still hard for her. For this reason, she generally stays off the front line of conflicts, instead providing support to others to act on her behalf.
- Primrose is far too enthusiastic, to the point where it impacts her judgement. She'll rapidly leap at a chance to help someone get stronger or to experience something interesting. While her intentions are kind, the way she carries out her kindness isn't always well thought out. She's been known to accept Contracted under sometimes dubious circumstances, where for example they were young or desperate for a way to turn their situation around, just because she wanted to help them.

AU INFORMATION

AU CHARACTER NAME: Primrose
AGE: Centuries. Primrose herself doesn't know.
POSITION: Teacher of Art, Dealing With Fae, and Breaking Borders (special short hell training course)
AU BACKSTORY:
- Started life as a simple primrose growing somewhere in the Outlands.
- A passing Fae, on a rare benevolent whim, infused the primrose with fae power then wandered on.
- Thanks to that whim, this primrose grew and prospered, eventually developing sentience.
- The primrose, working hard at it by pushing its own limits, started to grow more and more powerful, developing the ability to assume a humanoid form and using the name Primrose in honor of her humble origin.
- Primrose grew to the point where she could start taking on Contracted. Her nature influenced by that generous gift, she started helping others in need of power.
- She eventually amassed a large number of friends and Contracted, who formed the Golden Dew organization.
- Primrose worked at her mission of helping others grow for centuries before she was approached by a Seer from Daybreak Academy a century ago.
- Ever since she's been teaching at Daybreak, helping train the future defenders of humanity.

RACE: Fae
SECRET SOCIETY: Her primary affiliation is with Daybreak Academy those days, but she and her many Contracted essentially consist their own organization, the Golden Dew. Those days, the Golden Dew is busy working on helping people largely without her input while she focuses on her teaching.

POWERS:
Eye for Potential: Primrose can by examining someone get an idea of where their potential lies and what good ways for them to grow might be. She largely uses this to direct her teaching curriculum, especially for her Breaking Barriers class. She can also get something of a sense of what someone's strengths are, though ways to mask those things from her exist.

Power of Growth: Primrose can create growth right on the spot, creating plants that do her bidding. As well, she can recruit and empower animals to help her. Essentially, she functions a lot like a Tamer. Additionally, she can bestow powers upon the willing, either temporarily or making them into her Contracted. Those powers often have side effects such as bouts of euphoria and mutations (only lasting as long as the person has said powers) or function in weird ways, but they're overall helpful. In addition, she can heal others by temporarily bolstering their natural healing to supernatural heights. She's not the easiest person to kill, either, given how she can regrow from herself. However, destructive attacks such as lots of fire or sufficiently persistent attacks can kill her.

Those Who Offer Themselves: One thing Primrose has is power over anyone who accepts her gifts of power, especially her Contracted. She very rarely exploits this, as her nature is to foster others, not control them. But in a notable occasion when one of her Contracted started enslaving and wantonly killing others (which goes directly against what she asks of her Contracted), she turned him into a giant fuzzy caterpillar which she occasionally uses as a mount.

Fae Bullshit: To say her name is to potentially attract her attention, and if you say it three times in a row, she can appear before you or send one of her pets in her place. If you make a promise to her and break it, she can curse you to a degree based on the severity of the promise, though she tends to be generous and often overlook minor infractions. (But once when someone broke their promise not to spoil a book to her, she cursed them to cough up a frog every time they are about to say a spoiler.) Her blood is honey and her kisses taste sweet. When she isn't suppressing it (which she usually does), plants grow where she treads. Finally, she's supernaturally graceful and can walk on a fragile branch and the like.

Strange and Wondrous Friends: She's gained many allies due to her generous and helpful nature. A fair number of strong people owe their strength to her helping them gain said strength. As well, she generally has a good relationship with her Contracted. However, her allies are largely busy elsewhere, with most of her Contracted off working to further her cause. As such, as previously discussed, in the game she will only be calling upon any PCs Contracted to her and rarely, if cleared with mods beforehand, as a "power" to overcome a challenge in a dramatic and/or funny way.

Shifting Aesthetics: She has the purely cosmetic ability to change her outfit, details of her overall look, and on occasion creating illusory appropriate backgrounds to emphasize her mood.

Note: I'll accept any nerfs as necessary.

INTERVIEW SAMPLE PROMPT
(The following scenario is available to all characters who are apping in and is considered canon - all prospective teachers for the academy are interviewed by staff members to ensure they're a good fit. The definition of "good fit" seems to vary wildly from staffer to staffer.)

1. TELL US ABOUT YOUR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND.
Why, I have virtually no educational background! Unless you count my efforts in nuturing my beloved... I believe Contracted was the word you use? Such a word lacking in affection cannot describe the relationship between me and those who call me their mother, their goddess, their lady... Really they call me a lot of different names, each one has a different relationship with me.

2. TELL US ABOUT YOUR TEACHING EXPERIENCE.
Oh, I can do this! Quite easily, in fact. My teaching experience is this: I have helped many awaken their potentials. Ah, such a beautiful thing, when someone experiences the joy of doing what they couldn't do before. It brings a tear to my eyes.

3. WHAT UNIQUE PERSPECTIVES DO YOU THINK YOU BRING TO THE ACADEMY?
Oh, others've said I have an unique perspective many times. Often as an insult, but, naturally, I take it as a compliment. After all, few can so easily perceive the beauty of others' potential. I can see where they have the possibility of improvement and how to awaken their capabilities.

4. WHAT, IN YOUR OPINION, IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR A SCHOOL TO PROVIDE TO ITS STUDENTS
Naturally, it is a chance to grow!

5. DESCRIBE YOUR COMMUNICATION STYLE AND HOW YOU INTERACT WITH COWORKERS.
I've been called quite eccentric in my communication style. But, dear interviewer, I would be overjoyed to work with those fellows devoted to teaching and nurturing!

7. HOW DO YOU MANAGE STUDENTS WHO ARE DEFIANT OR ACTING OUT?
Why, I use my honeyed tongue to soothe them.

8. HOW DO YOU ENCOURAGE AND MENTOR STUDENTS WHO ARE STRUGGLING OR DEPRESSED?
I show them their true potential. That or I infuse my enthusiasm into them, should they be willing. I'm told the process creates a sense of euphoria.

9. WHAT, IN YOUR OPINION, IS THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON TO TEACH EVERY STUDENT WHO WALKS THROUGH OUR DOORS?
That they should always strive to expand their limits, to reach for their dreams, to spread joy and love!

11. DESCRIBE A NEGATIVE TEACHING EXPERIENCE YOU HAD AND WHAT YOU DID TO TURN IT AROUND.
Once, one of those I nurtured went directly against my teachings and sought to spread tyranny and death. To cruelly stifle others' potential. To bring all under his heels. Such a woeful abuse of my gifts to him! Nevertheless, such a cruel violation of, dare I say it, basic decency warranted nothing less than being rendered into a safe, cute, harmless form. Even today I still ride my beloved giant caterpillar. He's quite pleasantly placid those days.

12. DESCRIBE A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE WITH A COWORKER AND HOW YOU HANDLED IT.
Why, I have never before had a coworker. Unless you count the occasional cases where I have cooperated with others for a common cause. Let's see. I flung myself weeping in front of the one that hunter wanted to kill and begged with her to spare the poor vampire. It took considerable negotiation before she agreed to have me take the vampire under my fold. Today said vampire has proven herself a wonderful person devoted to life itself.

13. HOW DO YOU THINK YOUR CURRENT BOSS OR SUPERVISOR WOULD DESCRIBE YOUR JOB PERFORMANCE?
I cannot say that I ever have had any such thing as a boss or supervisor. Oh, but if I did have one, I believe they would be quite delighted at how well I've been doing at helping others realize their dreams!

17. WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO SACRIFICE FOR YOUR STUDENTS?
Absolutely anything and everything.
